Accessibility Statement – Social Patients

Social Patients is committed to accessibility and inclusion. Our goal is to create welcoming, supportive spaces for people with diverse abilities, health conditions, neurodivergence, and access needs. We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing process, not a one-time achievement.

1. Online Platform Limitations
Social Patients events are hosted using third-party online platforms such as Google Meet. While these platforms offer many accessibility features, we acknowledge that: Not all accessibility needs may be fully supported Some assistive technologies, devices, or browsers may not be fully compatible. Accessibility features may change, break, or behave differently due to platform updates beyond our control. Because these tools are owned and managed by third parties, Social Patients cannot guarantee full accessibility for every participant in every situation.

2. Advocacy & Continuous Improvement
Where limitations are identified, we are committed to: Documenting accessibility barriers reported by participants Exploring reasonable workarounds or alternative options where possible Providing feedback to platform providers (such as Google) when accessibility gaps are identified Our hope is to contribute, where we can, to broader improvements in platform accessibility over time.

3. Getting Support & Reporting Accessibility Issues
If you experience an accessibility barrier before, during, or after a Social Patients event, we encourage you to contact us. We will make reasonable efforts to understand the issue and explore potential solutions. You can reach us to report accessibility concerns, request accommodations, or ask questions related to access. While we may not be able to resolve every issue immediately, your feedback helps us improve and adapt.

4. Shared Responsibility
Accessibility works best when approached collaboratively. Participants are encouraged to: Notify us of access needs as early as possible when comfortable doing so. Communicate any difficulties encountered during events. Offer constructive feedback that may help improve future sessions.

5. Our Commitment
Social Patients strives to create inclusive, low-pressure social spaces that recognize the realities of online participation. We are committed to listening, learning, and adjusting within our capacity, while being transparent about platform limitations.
